Our Team

Jag was born and raised in Ladysmith. Coming from a small town in BC he feels that he has a moral and ethical responsibility to give back to the community that’s allowed him to be able to run a successful company. He is a dedicated volunteer fireman with the Ladysmith Fire Department, currently with 35 years of service. He’s also quick to volunteer his services, equipment, and financial support to other community groups to help make the community a better place.

In his younger years, Jag worked and enhanced his work ethic and experience employed with various local companies, including Limberis Seafood, Red Block Rentals and WFP Saltair, before attending Malaspina College to gain his heavy-duty mechanic’s ticket. Before starting TRT Contracting, Jag was employed by Mayco Mix Ltd, driving concrete trucks, pump trucks, low beds, excavators, and various other pieces of machinery.

Continually exploring and expanding, Jag then created his first company — TRT Contracting Inc o/a Coastal Trucking, in 2004. Beginning with only two trucks and one employee (who’s still with the company) he’s amassed a fleet of over 50 vehicles and approximately 150 trailers. Jag’s proud to say that he’s able to provide stable and long-term employment for over 70 local residents.
